August 21st, 2010 Soniya H Ghildiyal Posted in Fun at GCS No Comments »

India celebrated its 64th Independence Day on 15th August. While there are many functions organized by government to commemorate I-Day, we at G-Cube also celebrated this Day with great joy and enthusiasm.

There was a festive free spirit in the air as the entire office was decked up in tricolor theme, and all G-Cubians were wearing tricolor badges. Patriotic songs quadrupled free spirit of the nation among G-Cubians.

Inter-departmental competitions were organized for the day, which turned out to be quite a battle of nerves and skills between different teams. The celebration started with small skill based games and kite flying competition. These activities surprised G-Cubians which served their very purpose and tuned G-Cubians in exuberant mood.

Next on the list were major competitions of the day: G-Cube’s Got Talent (wherein G-Cubians show cased the talent which makes them Unique) and Painting Competition – based on Independence theme. The competition started with our budding ID Deepak Ghosh’s song followed by Rohit Grover and Arvind Chawla’s surprise performances. Everybody was astonished by Manish Gupta’s (CEO – G-Cube) dance performance. Next performance was of Anup Singh, who stole the show with his mimicry of different Indian actors and made everybody burst into laughter.

Sayantani Kundu was the winner of Painting competition. In ‘G-Cube’s Got Talent’ Anup Singh and Deepak Ghosh were winners. The award for person best dressed in Indian colors was won by Prerna.

Kids and G-Cubian’s families were also invited for the day. Among kids, Kriti Jain amazed everyone with her mind blowing Indian Classical dance performance on Vande Matram which began with furling of flag. The sweet little girl represented true India with her Indian attire.

Last but not the least all G -Cubians wished each other Happy Independence Day and the celebrations ended with yummy snacks.

Holi Celebrations at G-Cube

March 9th, 2010 Soniya H Ghildiyal Posted in Fun at GCS No Comments »

HoliHoli – the festival of colors – is undoubtedly the most fun-filled and boisterous of all festivals. It’s an occasion that brings in unadulterated joy and mirth, fun and play, music and dance, and, of course, lots of bright colors!

The G-Cube Family celebrated the festival of colors with great fun, gaiety and reverence.

The celebration started with prize distribution ceremony for sports events that were held in December & January. After that it was free for all mayhem, where G-Cubians enjoyed the exuberant ritual of putting color on each other. In for special “attention” were the new joiners, who simply became unrecognizable after some time!

Soaked in “Gulal” and dancing to the tunes of “rang-barse” G-Cubians had a gala time on the occasion.

Independence Day Celebrations at G-Cube

August 17th, 2009 Sonia Pandey Posted in Fun at GCS No Comments »

India celebrated its 62nd Independence Day on 15th August. While there are many functions organized by government to commemorate I-Day, kite flying on this day has now emerged as a tradition of sorts for common people to celebrate free spirit of the nation.

We at G-Cube also celebrated the Independence Day with great joy and enthusiasm. There was a festive spirit in the air as the entire office was decked up in tricolor theme, and all G-Cubians were wearing tricolor badges or caps.

An inter-departmental kite flying competition was also organized, which turned out to be quite a battle of nerves and skills between different teams.

Partly cloudy sky and a cool breeze provided a perfect setting for the kite flying enthusiasts. It was an intense competition between all the teams as each tried to claim victory over other by brining down others kit. It also became a mini-Christmas of sorts for kids chasing the falling kites with almost 30 kites cut during the entire competition!

Mango Mania at G-Cube

May 31st, 2009 Sonia Pandey Posted in Fun at GCS No Comments »

G-Cubians celebrated Mango Festival with full enthusiasm and spirit on 30th May 2009. This was an inter-departmental festival. The entire G-Cube was broadly divided into five teams and each team wore a color dress code.

The festival started with ‘Let’s Check the Appetite’ game wherein the representative of each team had to eat maximum mangoes in 3 minutes. One participant had to peel off the mango with hands and help the other person to eat. The winner team ate 12 mangoes in 3 minutes!! What an appetite Ankit Kumar had!!!

The next game on the list was ‘Main Hoon Kaun’. We had different varieties of Mangoes and a representative of each team had to guess the Variety. It was quite a fun to watch team members raking their brains to identify different mango types.

The best part of the festival was ‘The Mango Quiz’ as all teams showed their competitive spirit and gave their best to win accolades for their teams.

Another highlight of the program was the intense hooting and cut-throat competitive spirit amongst Corporate Team and the rest of the teams (clubbed together) in all the competitions. The most pictured image herein was of Puneeta who cheered the loudest for her team members.

Finally we all got so much exhausted that we were sapped out of our strength. In order to re-energize our weary bodies we greedily hogged on the snacks and culminated the fun summer festival.

Whole World is Our Canvas!

March 16th, 2009 Sonia Pandey Posted in Fun at GCS 5 Comments »

Well, not the world but yes, we literally had the whole office corner as a canvas for all the G-Cubians to express themselves. And to say that the results were simply amazing would be an understatement -

Painting

The main central section is titled ‘Jalchabi’, and depicts various facets of today’s society. It shows urabization, people working hard, success, failure, stuck in the concrete jungle, trying to escape, and hope in form of new birth.

The left section if a dream landscape, whereas the right section is explosion of color to depict Holi (festival of color, celebrated in month of March in India).

You can look at more pictures of this painting over here – http://picasaweb.google.co.in/gcsalbum/WorldIsMyCanvas

Tell us your interpretation of these paintings and the three most interesting answers will get a box of chocolates!

Essence of Social Inclusiveness

March 14th, 2008 Sonia Pandey Posted in Fun at GCS 1 Comment »

This movie is a result of one of the group activities that everyone here at G-Cube takes up from time to time for various events organized every month. This time some members of the Graphic Team decided to make a 3-D movie with a unique concept and universal appeal.

The group started with initial brainstorming and finalized the concept. The concept was to evolve the human emotions to a higher level of sensitivity.

Here is a brief on what the movie wishes to communicate –

“We have used a butterfly (Stella) in the movie to show the power of emotional association. In this film, a human being (Joyee) is trying to play with a butterfly by capturing it. He is deriving lot of enjoyment, completely unaware of the agony of the butterfly. While playing, he keeps the butterfly in his pocket and it dies. Now, he realizes how much he has lost.

In spite of the short duration and his ignorant nastiness towards the butterfly, he had got attached to it. He is surprised with his own emotions. He could associate with this creature so quickly.

The last scene shows his self realization and ends in a contemplative mood. The Story carries a subtle message.

The crux is that human has a latent positive side- the sensitive side. Due to ignorance and insensitivity this potential remains latent. It is the duty of evolved-people in the society to sensitize others through their interactions (in various art forms and through mentoring). The subtlety of the message is that by sensitizing human we can bring about a permanent and sustainable “Social Transformation” that can lead to inclusive thinking for society and universe.

We hope you enjoyed watching the movie, and would consider our effort to be successful if this movie could impress you to do your bit for the society, and the universe we live in.”
