About the client

Idea Cellular is an Aditya Birla Group Company, India's first truly multinational corporation. Idea is a pan-India integrated GSM operator offering 2G and 3G services. With revenue in excess of $4 billion, revenue market share of 18% and subscriber base of over 150 million, Idea is India's 3rd largest mobile operator. Idea ranks among the Top 10 country operators in the world with a traffic of over 1.5 billion minutes a day.

Business Requirement

  • The Client wanted a technology-aided platform to deliver standard as well as customized training content to self-led learners as well as facilitators for classroom training.
  • The platform also needed to have learner assessment capabilities for creating a regular channel of assessing learner progress and understanding.

Challenges

  • Multiple types of trainings needed to be shared with learners and assigned as per recommendations from superiors or individual needs
  • The security of the data available on the LMS was a high priority and a serious concern for the Client.

SOLUTION G-Cube customized WiZDOM LMS as per the specific needs of the Client.

  • The process of uploading courses was made very simple and administrators or managers could tag the courses when uploading on to the system – as functional trainings, behavioral training or induction training. The learners could see the tags on the catalogue and choose the courses they had access rights to.
  • SMS integration was included with the LMS so that administrators could flag events like start of a training event, important dates or even announcements. Bulk text messages could be then sent to all learners, helping them plan better.
  • The LMS browser restricted right click so that it could not be copied or shared. In addition, print screen was also disabled so that learners could not share the content further.
  • Virtual Classroom(VCR) was integrated with the LMS to help train learners who worked in far-off locations.

Result

  • With the variety of available learning content, the learners found the system extremely useful and aligned to their needs.
  • Frequent updates through SMS provided them much needed reminders
  • The VCR feature was very useful in imparting blended learning to learners who preferred the guidance of instructors over self-paced learning.
