About the client

NeGD (National e-Governance Division) plays a pivotal role in supporting Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology not only for mandate of work assigned but has also added value to e-Governance projects and initiatives undertaken both at Central as well as State levels.

Business requirement

  • Widespread LMS implementation targeted for 1.5 lakh govt. officials across India and further scale-up to 800,000 government employees across India and abroad.
  • The LMS would be a one-stop solution for a variety of content - e-Governance related topics, e-Reading material, PPTs, Assignments, Videos, Games, Quizzes, Blended learning content and so on.

Challenges

  • One of the largest LMS implementation projects in the country, sheer numbers were mind-boggling
  • Multiple learner requirements ensued extended list of features in the LMS

Solution

  • Learners can choose to register themselves for a course, after conducting a diagnostic test
  • Personal Learning manager included with a personalized learning plan, training calendar, course specific glossary, summary view of course progress and a report card.
  • The LMS supports self-assessments
  • Virtual classroom feature for Instructor-led training
  • Learners are registered for Compliance training and notifications are sent from time to time
  • Skill gap analysis are conducted with inputs from learners as well as their managers and courses suggested accordingly
  • Help desk is activated for learner support

Result

  • The nation-wide implementation was successfully completed and the LMS is now running across multiple offices. Due to the easy and logical flow of the system, new learners can quickly get accustomed to the new system.
  • Multiple features help learners personalize their learning experience and take control of their learning. This increases learning uptake
